Visual identity and practical design guidelines

Brand identity and guidelines for one consistent look.

A consistent look helps customers recognise your business on your website, in presentations and in everyday communication. Guidelines in one document make it easier for your team and partners to prepare new materials and keep the brand’s character.

What the work covers

Guidelines built around real applications

Choose examples your team will actually use. Scope can range from essential guidance to a broader system of materials, depending on the brand’s needs.

  1. 01Light and dark backgrounds, minimum sizes
  2. 02RGB and CMYK use for the material
  3. Typography and composition principles

Identity foundations

The logo, proportions, colour codes and typography give each material a common starting point. Guidelines explain how to combine them and which uses to avoid.

  1. 01Business cards, stationery and email signatures
  2. 02Social channel artwork and advertising
  3. Packaging, vehicle or workwear design within scope

Materials for everyday work

Choose materials the business will actually use. Your identity should maintain consistency when different suppliers produce the work.

  1. 01Reviewing current materials
  2. 02Priorities based on actual use
  3. Guidelines and required files

Organise an existing identity

Extend an existing logo with practical guidance and connect inconsistent materials through one visual system.

Work details

  • What the guidelines should include

Define logo use, clear space, sizing, colour codes and typography. Explain unsuitable applications too, so future materials can follow the same system.

  • Materials your team will use

Priorities may include business cards, stationery, email signatures, presentations, social materials or packaging. Select the required set; every channel’s design is not automatically included.

  • Developing an existing brand

Before changing the identity, review recognisable elements and the business’s new needs. Keep a suitable logo and refine the system, or plan a broader refresh.

  • Handover and continued use

Agree the guidelines document, editable materials and files for your team or production partner. The Aurina Auto example helps discuss how an identity continues across applications.

What brand guidelines look like

Brand guidelines are a working tool for your team and partners. As an example, here are the foundations of our own brand: logo, colour, type and usage rules.

Colour palette

Every colour has a role. The codes let you repeat exactly the same shade on the website, in presentations and in documents.

How the work runs

From an idea to finished files

  1. Step 01

We discuss your business, audience and where the design will be used.

  2. Step 02

We present design directions with their reasoning and show them in real applications.

  3. Step 03

We refine the chosen direction through agreed revisions.

  4. Step 04

We prepare the final files for print and screen and hand them over to you.

Questions and answers

Can we keep our existing logo?

Yes. If it fits the brand’s needs, we can develop the system around it and clarify its use.

How do guidelines differ from a logo?

Guidelines connect the logo, colour, typography and materials through one system, helping teams and suppliers maintain the style in future work.

Do we need every business material?

Choose what is needed: cards, stationery, social channels, advertising or other uses. The proposal lists materials and artwork scope.

Will we get templates for the team?

If they are part of the proposal, we prepare templates for everyday materials such as presentations, stationery or social posts, so your team can fill them in themselves.

What does the cost of design work depend on?

On the scope: the number of concepts, versions, materials and formats. After a conversation we prepare a proposal with an agreed brief and the files you will receive.

Do the design files and rights stay with us?

File handover and usage rights are set out in the proposal. Once approved, you receive the final files to use in print, on your website and on social media.

Can you build a website in the new style too?

Yes. Websites, online shops and digital materials are made by the same team, so the brand style carries on into digital.

Which languages can we work in?

We work in Latvian, Russian and English. We meet in Riga by arrangement or remotely, and we can prepare materials in several languages.

How do we get started?

Fill in the enquiry form: tell us about the business, the audience and where the design will be used, and add examples you like. After a conversation we prepare a proposal.
